Boxed flooring should go flat and forward over the axle rather than stacked high at the rear, both for stability and because a tall stack of heavy boxes will topple when you open the doors. Flooring suppliers and carpet warehouses often work trade hours, which means an early finish on Saturday and nothing at all on Sunday. Letting Boards Settle Before They Are Laid
Laminate and engineered boards are timber products and they move with the temperature and humidity of the room they end up in. Most manufacturers ask for the boxes to sit flat in the room where they will be laid for a period before fitting, which means the collection needs to happen meaningfully before the fitting date rather than on the same morning. That has a practical consequence for your van booking. There is no point taking a vehicle out on the day the fitter arrives if the boards should already have been in the house for days. Plan the collection first, get the boxes stacked flat and out of the way indoors, and let the fitting date follow. Keep the boxes off a cold concrete garage floor while they settle, since that defeats the purpose entirely. Carpet does not need the same treatment, but a roll left standing on end for days will develop a flat spot at the base, so lay it down once it is home.
